Privacy Policy

J. Marcus Photography & Productions is committed to ensuring your privacy. Information collected from clients over the phone, in person, or through our online channels is kept confidential. Information will not be shared or sold to third parties. We respect the anonymity of our clients due to job, security clearance, and personal preferences.  We reserve the right to use your images for promotional purposes only.

 

Session Fee

Your session fee includes the studio/location time and talent, phone consultation to plan your session, image retouching/editing, and electronic delivery of final proofs.

 

We manage our review, retouch, and image delivery through our secure & password protected online client portal. The image review gallery will be available for your viewing and selection within 24 hours after your session except for Saturday shoots. All clients have 5 calendar days to select their images based package selection. If no selections have been made within allotted time frame, studio reserves the right to make the selection for you. You will receive your finished digital product via the same portal within 5 business days after final selection is submitted/chosen. Your images will be available within client portal for up to 1 year after final delivery

 

Re-Shoots

  1. Marcus Photography & Productions strives for 100% client satisfaction with your session and images. There will be no charge for re-shoots due to technical issues (ie. equipment malfunctions or acts of God) However, we cannot offer free re-shoots for any of the following reasons: dissatisfaction with clothing, facial expressions, hair/makeup, wind, or other items beyond our control.

 

Payments

  1. Marcus Photography & Productions accepts payments in cash and by credit/debit card through the Square Payment Processing System. All Square payment processes will be strictly adhered to. Maryland state sales tax at 6% will be added to session cost where applicable.

 

Rescheduling

We respect the fact that things happen and we wish our clients all the best. If you need to reschedule your session due to sickness, injury, or scheduling conflict, please do so no less than 48 hours prior to your session. The fastest method is to use the reschedule link in your booking confirmation email or text message.

 

Due to the nature of the business, we are only able to accomodate a limited number of changes.

 

  1. Your first reschedule request is always complementary.
  2. Your second request will incur a $30 rescheduling fee. Final image delivery will be held until this fee is paid.
  3. Any further requests will be considered as non-refundable final cancellation for the total session fee.

 

Cancellations & No Shows

In the unfortunate circumstance that you need to cancel your session, we do require a minimum of 48 hours notification. The fastest method is to use the cancellation link in your booking confirmation email or text message. Please call for immediate emergencies.

 

For cancellations with less than 48 hours notice and No Shows

Due to the nature of the business, we must cover our time an any fees we may have incurred as a result of last minute cancellations and no-shows.  We will consider a last minute cancellation 48 hours – 1 hour prior to session. After this time you will be considered a no-show.

The following applies:

  • Appointment grace period: 15 minutes after your scheduled session time
  • Set Price Services: $55.00 cancellation fee – refund remainder of session fee immediately
  • Deposit based Services: cancellation fee is the total amount of deposit
  • No-Shows: total amount of session fee

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Analytics

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
